Most countries have strict driving while intoxicated or impaired laws and you can find yourself in jail or a hospital very quickly. Additionally, predators look for people who are impaired and particularly foreigners as easy targets. By not putting yourself in this type of dangerous situation you will greatly improve the chances of not getting yourself hurt.

The weather can also cause an unfortunate holiday accident. Dress appropriately for the climate you are visiting. One of the most common vacation mistakes is the traveler cooking themselves in the hot tropical sun and spending the rest of their vacation with sunburn that can turn to phenomena or hospitalization. Bring cover ups, hats and sunscreen to help avoid this from happening. Additionally if you are visiting a cold climate, dress in layers to help avoid catching colds or worse. In conclusion accidents do happen, and ones that happen on a holiday are particularly frustrating. By using a little common sense and planning your vacation wisely and using some restraint you can greatly improve the chances of accidents not happening and ruining your holiday.
